I took a few shots of the girls this morning while they avoided the rain outside by hanging out in the coop. I built a pen with a roosting post, so to speak, and they love to be outside perched atop it.
They are getting quite big, and many of their features are changing. Take a look at the pics. I have many more posted on facebook, but these are good examples of each kind.

The Polish Crested are by FAR the most curious and must always check out what you are up to. I am falling in love with them. Their plume on top is really coming in nicely. You can see a bit from the photo that the feathers in the middle are still underdeveloped, just sticks right now. Once they come in the head will fill out and they will look positively beautiful.

This is a photo of the Silkie, and the Rhode Island Red. The RRR had some very striking feather patterns when she was younger, but as Allen predicted, she has lost them. She is still very pretty, and will most likely be the best egg layer. Her name is Gretchen. Sofia is the Silkie..

Here is a good shot of Sophia. She is the Silkie, and is growing a bit slower in developing her characteristic coat of feathers. She looks a bit scraggly now, but when she is full grown, I expect her to be stunning. She may not fill out as much as I would like, but we'll see. She is the smallest of the bunch, and the most skiddish.

ahhh, the Silver Laced Wyandottes. You can really see in this photo how their pencil markings are coming in to play, not only on the chest but on the sides and back as well. They are also getting pretty big. I think they will be much larger than I anticipated, so maybe we will get some good eggs out of them. I think they will be gorgeous when they are fully grown.

A small group shot of the girls. They all seem to get along real well, but I have seen a few "top chicken" matches between the RRR and the Wyandottes. Research suggested that the Wyandottes would be top dog, but so far it's pretty equal. I have to keep my eye on them to make sure no one is picking on the others. I had that issue with my last chickens, and what happens is they end up plucking all the feathers from the neck of the one they pick on. We'll just wait and see.
We couldn't be more happy. And now that I found an fixed the two leaks in the coop, it is all set. I'll take some photos when I get it finished for good, and you can see how great it looks in the yard. The neighbors have even come over to check out the girls, they like to bring their grandkids to pet them.
That's it for now. Hope everyone is well.......Happy Thursday.....
